The Great Wasteland War
-
The dogs of war on the other hand are charged by the imperial knights. But the Paymasters Bodyguard proves their worth and stood firm

The mercenary knights where delayed by some Harpies, which had to be dealt with, bevor an attack on the Dark Elves flank was possible
-
On the opposite flank of the Battlefield was the empire under immense pressure. The magical might of the Elven Magicians was unstoppable and the state troops where decimated by arrows and fire. The men fled bevor the silently advancing Elves. The dominance of the Dark Elves on the battlefield seemed untouchable.

-
The Dogs of War where confronted with a unit of Elven Crossbowmen, who could claim the cover of an old windmill. And now. That the empire was fleeing the Dark Magic focused the dwarfen Spearmen, but proved less effective against the highly armoured mercenaries.

The Empire Knight have lost the advantage of the charge and where slowly, one by one killed off

-
In the end the empire was back in their deployment zone, the dogs of war where scattered across the board and the dark elves stood ready to charge the dread knights into the heart of the Mercenary force.
But the end of the Battle was near, no one had yet a unit in the center, victory was still contested. The Dogs of War Magician took a deep breath and tried to cast the Bridge of Shadows on the Paymaster Bodyguard. The Dark Elves Witch tried to Dispel it, but was not able to counter the human Wizard. And just like that a stubborn unit with the best armour gold can buy was transported directly onto the mission objective in the last turn.

Victory for the Dogs of War!
-
The mercenaries hired by Marienburg knew that battle was imminent. So they occupied all the fortified farms in the area around the town of Texel with small units and took up position behind them with the main army so that they could react quickly to the imperial aggressors.
In the first sunlight of a late winter morning, the shadowy silhouettes of an imperial army could finally be made out. Polished armour and helmets glistened in the first rays of sunlight...

-
The Dogs of War awaited their adversaries, positioning their range focused army behind barricades and in a nearby copse.
At first, the mercenaries' magic only caused losses in their own ranks.
And so the battle was opened with a powerful salvo from the defenders. But the cannon immediately malfunctioned, and only a few musketeers and a knight here and there were struck down by bullets and bolts.

-
The response came immediately. The entire imperial army charged forward as fast as they could. With some magical assistance, the Panther Knights, known as the Lion Company, even managed to get within a few metres of the mercenaries' Freelancers, but their attack failed.

The rocket launcher exploded on the first attempt to fire. The mortars, however, fired with almost impossible precision, claiming the lives of many crossbowmen and musketeers. Yet no mercenary fled the battlefield.

-
Ranaald's horse whippers now attacked the Lion Company, killing the army standard bearer and putting the Imperials to flight. However, they were unable to hunt them down and now found themselves with their flank exposed to a unit of spearmen.
The Marigliano sharpshooters' fire destroyed a unit of musketeers, causing the halberdiers to flee. This, in turn, reminded the Master Technicus that his work was done with the explosive disappearance of his rocket battery and that it was time to leave the battlefield!

-
The Imperial General's retinue and the demigryphs attacked their respective targets. But iron will, sheer stubbornness and the help of the barricades helped both the Paymaster's bodyguard and the dwarf musketeers to hold their positions.

The freelancers also had to flee from the spearmen. Even later, they were unable to regroup and continued to flee until they were no longer visible...

-
The battle now shifted to two brutal close-quarters fights. The demi-griffin knights slew more and more bodyguards, while the generals engaged in an epic duel in which... absolutely nothing happened...

There was a lot of movement on the left flank, which ultimately led to nothing. The Silver Shields of Khuzduul, the heavy dwarf infantry, constantly turned to face new threats, which then either broke formation or fled under fire.
Ultimately, the mercenaries won on their right flank, allowing General Pappenberg to defeat the Panther Knights and the Imperial General. This allowed the dwarves to line up for a flanking attack on the hard-pressed Paymaster.
-
In the end, only the champion of the penny pinchers remained, and Paymaster Tyron was down to his last hit point when the dwarves not only managed to force the demigriffin knights to flee, but also wiped them out as they fled!

Again, victory for the Dogs of War after a
hard fought battle!
